In Short: By using SimranLock, you agree to these terms. SimranLock is provided "as is." Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled.
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the SimranLock mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and NextVentureLab ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
2. Description of Service
SimranLock is a faith-based digital wellness application for iOS that:
- Blocks user-selected apps using Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls API
- Requires users to complete a brief Gurbani reading or Simran meditation before unlocking
- Provides daily Hukamnama from Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar
- Tracks simran streaks and practice milestones
- Offers optional premium features via in-app subscription
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age, or have consent of a parent or legal guardian.
4. Account & Authentication
SimranLock supports optional sign-in via Apple Sign-In and Google OAuth. No account is required for core features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
Free Tier
Core features including up to 5 blocked apps, daily Hukamnama, and all three unlock paths.
Premium Subscription
- Unlimited blocked apps and additional features
- Billed through Apple's App Store; auto-renews unless cancelled 24 hours before period end
- Manage and cancel in Apple ID settings
- No refunds for partial billing periods
Family Plan
Shared access via Apple's Family Sharing. Apple's Family Sharing terms apply.
6. Screen Time & App Blocking
By granting Screen Time permissions, you authorize SimranLock to manage app access on your behalf. All blocking data is processed locally by Apple's framework. We do not access, transmit, or store data about which apps you block or use. You can revoke permissions at any time.
7. Gurbani Content & Intellectual Property
Gurbani content is sourced from the Guru Granth Sahib via the BaniDB API (Khalis Foundation). The SimranLock name, logo, design, and code are the intellectual property of NextVentureLab.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Use the App in a manner that disrespects the sanctity of Gurbani
- Redistribute or resell the App or its content
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
SimranLock is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." We make no warranties regarding reliability, accuracy, or availability.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NextVentureLab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NextVentureLab from any claims arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
12. Modifications
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. Sections 9, 10, 11, and 14 survive termination.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Ontario courts.
