Frequently Asked Questions
SimranLock is a faith-based digital wellness app built for the Sikh community. It blocks distracting apps on your iPhone until you complete a moment of simran — reading a Gurbani passage, reciting the Mool Mantar, or doing a Waheguru meditation.
SimranLock uses Apple's official Screen Time / Family Controls API. When you try to open a blocked app, a custom shield appears with Gurbani content. After completing your simran, the app unlocks for a configurable duration (1-120 minutes). All data stays on your device.
Yes! The free tier supports up to 5 blocked apps with daily Hukamnama, all three unlock paths, and streak tracking. Premium ($4.99/mo) unlocks unlimited apps and additional features. Family plans are also available.

SimranLock includes a Streak Freeze — once per week protection. If you miss a day but have a freeze available, your streak stays intact. This is about building a practice, not perfection.
