This Privacy Notice for SimranLock ("we," "us," or "our"), describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your personal information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you:

SimranLock is a mobile application for iOS that helps users manage screen time through faith-based digital wellness. The app blocks user-selected distracting apps using Apple's Screen Time API and requires users to read a short passage from the Guru Granth Sahib (Sikh scripture) before the blocked app is unlocked. No user account is required to use the app. All app-blocking data is processed on-device through Apple's native Screen Time framework and is never transmitted to our servers.

1. What Information Do We Collect?

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.

Payment Data. All payment data is handled and stored by Apple and RevenueCat. SimranLock never directly accesses, stores, or processes your payment information.

Application Data

Mobile Device Access. We may request access to your mobile device's Screen Time API (Apple Family Controls framework). This access is used solely to block and unblock apps you have selected. All Screen Time data remains on your device. We never access, transmit, or store data about which apps you use or block.

Push Notifications. We may request to send you push notifications regarding the daily Hukamnama, streak reminders, and other features. You may turn them off in your device's settings.

2. How Do We Process Your Information?

In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law.

To deliver and maintain the Services. App-blocking functionality, daily Hukamnama, Gurbani passages, streak tracking, and push notifications.
To process subscriptions. Through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat for premium feature access.
To respond to your inquiries. When you contact us with questions or support requests.
To improve our Services. Aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve the product.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. What Legal Bases Do We Rely On?

EU/UK: GDPR bases include Consent, Legal Obligations, and Vital Interests.

Canada: Express or implied consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

4. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Information?

Business Transfers. In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition.
Subscription Processing. Apple (App Store) and RevenueCat only. SimranLock does not receive or store your payment details.

We have not disclosed, sold, or shared any personal information to third parties for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding twelve (12) months.

5. Third-Party Content Providers

SimranLock displays Gurbani content sourced from the BaniDB API, operated by the Khalis Foundation. No user data is shared with BaniDB or Khalis Foundation.

6. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

Only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

7. Do We Collect Information From Minors?

We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.

8. What Are Your Privacy Rights?

Depending on your region, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal information.

9. Do-Not-Track

We do not currently respond to DNT browser signals.

10. US Residents

We have not collected any categories of personal information in the past twelve months. To exercise your rights, contact hello@simranlock.com.
